Our Naturopaths  know treatment of Fatigue

Our Naturopathic Approach:

We usually begin our fatigue work up with comprehensive blood and salivary testing.

Common Blood Work: TSH/FreeT3/Free T4 & Thyroid Antibodies

Common Saliva Testing: AM Cortisol, DHEA, Testosterone, Estradiol and Progesterone

For Challenging Cases: Advanced Deficiency Testing, Infectious Testing (EBV, HHV-6 & Candida) and toxicity testing (Heavy Metals) & Organic Acid Testing (OAT) may be conducted.

Our Naturopaths use Immunosciences lab from Los Angeles to measure viral antibody levels as well as a stool microbiology culture to measure yeast levels at our Edmonton clinic.

We use urinary heavy metal testing to assess primarily for toxic accumulation.

Screen for common deficiencies related to fatigue.

Management options:

Our Naturopaths often begin with hormonal and herbal options for fatigue treatment.

Commonly we use Adrenal glandular extracts to treat hypoadrenalism or "adrenal fatigue".

More difficult cases may require use of Bio-identical or Injectable Options*.

Desiccated Thyroid, DHEA and Hydrocortisone are all potential Bio-Identical options for Fatigue*.

For infectious cases of fatigue we usually start with oral antimicrobials. Viral infections are often treated with Baikal Skullcap, Lomatium, Olive Leaf, and Artemesinin.

Your TruMed Naturopath may refer you for prescription anti-virals as well or may also recommend IV Therapy.

Yeast infections are also typically treated orally with grapefruit seed extract and capryllic acid.

If a metal toxicity is found, your Naturopath may recommend oral chelation using agents in addition to supplementary minerals.

IV Therapy is also a frequently rapid and effective option for stubborn cases of fatigue.

Fatigue is the most common use of IV Drips at our Edmonton office.

*We may refer to prescribing professionals if Bio-identical options are needed.
